Hi everyone,
I tryed to install two ethernet cards (Realteak 8139A and Realteak 8139C) on
a Pentium MMX 200Mhz, RH9A with no server X installed.
The system finds both the cards.
I started first putting one of them starting the system and when kudzu found it,
I gave a static configuration (192.168.0.1).
Then the other one, and I assigned another fixed ip (192.168.0.2).
Then when I check the configuration with ifconfig, I find out that they took
the ip address from the dhcp server and I have 192.168.0.17 on one and 192.168.0.23 on the other one.
So I checked the configuration in /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0 / 1
and, with surprise, there was the configuration I typed (0.1 and 0.2).
So I tryed with service network restart, but the result is the same.
I tryed then running setup, but it let me change only one card (I remember that with RH7.3 it was asking me first for one card, then for the other one.....)
so that I can set only one of them (witch one ???)
And it doesn't make difference, the ip still remain the same !
Where's the Trick? Am I missing something?
Thanks
Dario
