I'm quite sure about the configuration. The ifcfg files are as following:
DEVICE=eth0 
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.0.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.0.0

the same for eth1, but with 192.168.0.2.
To make it load from dhcp, on the BOOTPROTO line should have been 
=dhcp, am I rigth?
