Yes.  I could not get it to work.  Rsync on cygwin is flakey and unreliable.
(or maybe I am ... hehe)

What I did was introduce an old Linux PC and I mount the D$ on the Win2K server
and rsync that way.  Then I push the data using rsync over ssh over a VPN to 
an offsite Linux box.  Works great.
