if it's not enough then maybe you have to tell the graphics driver to do this
some cards are only able to clone the video output on a tv port, and some
allow you to have two devices and for example extend the desktop on 2
monitors.
It depends on your graphic chipset, you'd have to google to get more info
about
for example an nvidia geforce needs additionnal parameters in Xconfig to
declare and use the tv output, which you find in nvidia's driver docs.
