mounting device

 hi all,
i am trying to mount my usb device on rh8. i know it picks up usb
devices cause my mouse is usb.
the 'fstab' file contains the /dev/usb    /mnt/usb' line.
however i get a '/dev/usb is not a block device' error when i try to
mount it

am i way of the mark or what?
