Can not log in

Hi:

	I just installed RH 8.0 on my IBM A22m thinkpad 2 days ago.  It was
fine until yesterday when I tried to log in (after I have put in my
username and password), I got an error:

"Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds.  If you have not logged
out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or
that you may be out of diskspace.  Try logging in with one of the
failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem"

I know for sure that I am not out of diskspace.  I have looked into
~/.xsession-errors file, and did not see any relevant errors.  

Can someone please help??  Thanks.
