Replacement for lock.h

I'm trying to (quickly) port a package from HP-UX and Tru64 to Redhat Linux 
7.3. "Port" may be an overstatement because so far I've just had to make 
adjustments to the makefiles. This is the first real code issue. One 
program is failing to compile because "sys/lock.h" cannot be found. Is 
there a suitable replacement? I've found the files bits/libc-lock.h and 
bits/stdio-lock.h. Are either of these suitable replacements for sys/lock.h?
