Fixing a corrupt utmp

Hello,
Anyone knows how to fix a corrupted utmp files? Reboot most likely fix it, but 
I am trying not to reboot the machine (yeah.. i am trying to compete my 
uptime with other people :) ).

As to how my utmp file corrupted at the first place, please refer to my other 
post under the subject "log-out a user - How To".
