This is a can of worms I am not going near.
Anyone interested in this can look up many discussions on mail list
archives.
I think you have to apply some of your own comments to this, and if people
have made poor multiple choice exams before, that should not dismiss the
method as ineffective, talk to exam takers I would say. I have noted that
you did say it was your preference :)
