many, but first try a couple things

when the download stalls:

1) open a terminal and run 'dmesg' to see if there are any errors
reported, if your not sure, save the contents to a file and post it to
a web/ftp site: dmesg >/tmp/kernel.log

2) try to ping other hosts on your network when the download stalls

3) try to ping the redhat machine from another machine on the
network when the download is stalled.

what kind of network card is the machine using?
