What was the name of the package you installed, and how did you run
rpm -qi?
For example, I installed j2re-1.4.2-beta.i586.rpm. To query the installed
package:
'rpm -q j2re' or 'rpm -q j2re-1.4.2-beta'
However, rpm -q j2re-1.4.2-beta.i586.rpm won't work.
