Bill,
your correct, we shouldn't generalize. Unfortunately though, I
interviewed over 100 people last year for an IT tech position with our
company. About 70% had some sort of MS cert, none had any form of linux
cert. In the end the guy that got the job was a self taught tech who
has NO certs at all. He's been a great hire.
face it, the majority of the certs that people are walking around with
(right now anyway) are MS certs. It is a shame that that is casting a
shadow on people with more "legitimate" certifications but it is a real
world fact.
