RE: mount cdrom



Go to linux source dir and type make xconfig
At a roughly briefing through the menus I cant remeber where I found generic IDE scsi. May be it was on another kernel I had.
In 2.4.7-10 kernel you must go to menu ATA/IDE/MFM/RLL support.
Then choose IDE,ATA and ADAPI Block devices.
check to yes Include IDE/ATAPI CDROM support if you not already have done so.

You must enable generic cdrom in config when you compile the kernel

When you compiled the kernel, did you do a make modules, make
modules_install? If the cd support is modularized and you didn't do
that, then you would not have any driver support for the cdrom.
