Re: Help with Redhat 9 <--> Win XP

Thanks a lot!
Will try it in a few minutes.
I'd like very much to put my Linux as a gateway! The problem is quite long
to explain, if you have a minute I'll tell you.

I'm connected by a weird ADSL, it's a custom private system, not a standard
one, though it works by the same basics, it's a Suse Linux box that works as
a local DSLAM near the telephone central, which I'm connected to through my
phone line, in my home I have a PCI ADSL modem and the proper
driver/software I got from the provider, that works, of course in any
Windows version,it is a standard itex 1577, if I only could know how to
make it work on my redhat 9, i'd put it as a gateway. I know every thing I
need about settings such as Vp/Vc, encapsulation type, etc.
Aparently, all I need is only a driver for the modem.
But for now, I'll try to use the Win XP ICS.
Thanks again,
Ziv

Sure ya can (although why? Put the Linux box at the Gateway.. )

Anyhow, all you do is setup the ICS on the Xp machine, then on your
Linux machine, give it an address in the 192.168.0.0.0/24 network
(192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.254) with a gateway of 192.168.0.1
That will send all packets destined to the internet to the XP machine,
which will NAT them onto the internet...
