kde konqueror problem

hello:

i am getting the following message on about 40% of our computers (all at rh9) 
when attempting to print from konqueror:

There was an error loading kdeprint_lpd. The diagnostic is:
Library files for "kdeprint_lpd.la" not found in paths

the remainder of the systems work just fine. i have tried uninstalling all of 
kde and re-installing kde, including all the devel packages (including arts). 
no change.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated, and tia.
