Does anyone know how I can create a bootdisk that then kicks off the bootable CD? (which has a complete Linux kernel & many tools on it). I've read somewhere that the cd-only Knoppix distro has a mkfloppy.bat method on it that enables just that, and I'm currently downloading that .iso image, but it's rather slow and may end up taking several hours.

Hi John,
You can not easily "transfer" the boot process from floppy to the
cdrom on such a computer. Older machines like these lack the
BIOS support that would allow this.
However, you could make regular linux floppy boot disks with the
Linux kernel on one or more floppies. Once you've booted Linux,
mount the cdrom normally to get access to all the goodies.
Cheers,
Sean
