files and folders get locked

Hallo!

I have a problem with my RedHat 9.0 server. I use it in a network with win98 
clients. The problem is that when a user creates a file or a folder with 
names where they use the norwegian letters æ, ø and å, the system locks the 
files/ folders. When I try to open such a folder directly on the server I 
get a message that says the folder does not excist anylonger.

If I try to access the files/ folders from a win98 client, everything works 
just fine.

Any suggestions??
