How do you let's say ssh/ftp a Linux box which is behind a router?
Let's say the WAN Is xxx.xxx.x.x and the Linux box's ip is given by the
router to be 192.168.2.34
How do I ssh to it from outside the LAN? Thanks for any help provided.
It's called port forwarding, generally, where the router forwards
connections on port 22 destined for a particular external, public IP
address to another, internal IP address. Done all the time.
Need more details? Must give more specific info, such as type/make/model of
router and whether you want _all_ SSH traffic forwarded or not.
Alright. So if it's the router's job, then I can simply look it up in the
router's manual! :-) Thanks Rodolfo for the hint.
