it actually was set in: /etc/lilo.conf:

append="noht ramdisk_size=32768 console=rcons0,38400"
root=/dev/sda1
....
question:
1. If I edit this file to remove the "noht" argument
2. re-run:
/sbin/lilo
3. will this ensure that everytime this server boots,
hyperthreading will be set? Are there any other files
that this could be set?
