SV: monitor problem.. Help needed quickly!



Hi!

You log in to a normal console and then do:

emacs /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Or use another editor of choice ;)

How do I get to that file without being able to get into Gnome?

Try editing /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and fine the line that says

Modes "1280x1024" or similar

Change them down to say "1024x768"

See if that helps
