so..

When i turn the vanilla box on, I will have had to configure the motherboard
to be at a certain IP/Port address via the motherboard BIOS, correct? Is
there a way to configure the motherboard to only receive
install/boot/startup information from a given IP/IP address range? You
stated that the DHCP table on the master server has to have the client IP.
I'm trying to get a better feel for the direction/flow of information during
this process.

This is done in the DHCP server - it's obviously not an IP check since
IP isn't up yet, but it's done via MAC address.  If the MAC address
isn't in your DHCP tables, not much will happen with a PXE boot.
