MAXSYMLINKS issue on linux

Hi,

Even though /usr/include/sys/param.h on 2.4x and 2.6x kernel sets
MAXSYMLINKS to 20, I cannot traverse more than 8 levels. How can I
increase this limit (to at least 12 if not 20)?
