This is true but I think there has to be a work around for this considering I have openoffice installed but also MS Office XP with crossover and I can actually open a word doc using MS Word through konqueror and it works fine while oowriter quietly chokes.2. Only native gnome apps(gedit, Nautilus, etc) can browse the shares. same goes for KDE. So for example if you use connect to server with Nautilus to mount a Windows share you can't use oowriter or the gimp to browse that share.
