by now, it's not clear that that's the problem, but it's curious
that that option is not documented in the kernel doc file
.../Documentation/ide.txt, which is where i normally expect to see
such things explained.

p.s. yes, idex=dma is there, but not idex=nodma. a small
oversight, i expect.
