Yes. pata_amd works, thank you.

Unfortunately, I have different problem now with Windows.  The laptop 
came with pre-installed Vista, I have over 130 GB of free space but I 
can shrink the volume only about 5 GB.
I asked HP, it's not a bug it's a feature. Yay. Now waiting for a reply 
from Microsoft...
