There are competing solutions here, one other one is gstreamer which
somewhat but not 100% overlaps MAS.

The main issue with MAS is that it's being developed commercially and
the developers are looking for compensation for their work before really
pushing it out into the desktop projects. A fair request, but nobody has
agreed to pay as of yet.

The MAS demo is quite cool though, MAS certainly appears to work well.
