Sure, the idea is for KDE to support this too. To really integrate well
it would need some work on the kde core too. For instance,
xdg-user-dirs-gtk adds default bookmarks to the file selector and the
nautilus integration uses it to find the desktop folder and tracks
changes to these folders and updates the config files. Something similar
should be done in kde.
