Nope LD_ASSUME_KERNEL is correct.

[balay localhost ~]$ ldd /bin/ls |grep libc
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0x00997000)
[balay localhost ~]$ LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 ldd /bin/ls |grep libc
        libc.so.6 => /lib/i686/libc.so.6 (0x002c3000)
[balay localhost ~]$ LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 ldd /bin/ls |grep libc
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x002a6000)
