I did this the other day on my work computer. I can't really remember
what to do but it was found on google.
The /usr/bin/acroread file is just a shell script. You can load it in an
editor (gedit) and add that line to the top or something. I think I
added LANG=en_gb (United Kingdom). There may have been something else
though. Sorry I can't be more specific. The solution is out there though
