k3b on Fedora 1

Hi all,
today I updated k3b (release 0.11.15-1) on my Fedora 1 box and a new
problem has came up: k3b does not identify my Yamaha CD burner as a
writer (also when logging in as root). Therefore I cannot burn any CD
:-( Has anybody else experienced the same problem (that I guess is
different from the one on FC2 with cdrecord)? Any clue on how to solve this?
