Because people are expected to update their installs... That's why the up2date notification is run on every new user account, so the users can be warned that they need to update their systems... After all , people are supposed to look at a big red icon with an exclamation mark on it... (If they dont , I think maybe we should make up2date open a popup every 30 seconds until the system is updated :p [of course I'm joking on this part ] )If someone hasn't updated to any of the previous errata, is there
any point in me addressing their problems given they're also
unlikely to update to any newer ones ? Sheesh.
If the errata doesn't get incorporated into what people download and install by the people who understand it, why would you expect people who don't to perform those updates?
