I tried recompiling 2.6.11-1.1369 with gcc 3.2.3 to see if it was a
problem with the combination of the kernel and compiler. It still froze.

A new development kernel came out, 2.6.12-1.1387, and it seems to work
as well as FC3 kernels.

I opened a bug report and the freeze.
