cupsd refuses to start.

When I try to start cupsd this is what happens:
[root Janus01 root]# service cups start
Starting cups: cupsd: Child exited on signal 11!
                                                           [FAILED]
							   
Does anyone have an idea where to look for the problem? This is one of
what should be 42 identically configured machines.
