Upgrade to kernel 2.6.11 failure

I built the kernel 2.6.11.10 on my machine and add it
to my FC3 boot menu. When booting the new kernel, I
got this kernel panic:
VFS:Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
Any idea what I did wrong?
