The reduced speed of burning the image fixed the problem, so am am up and
running now.

Yes I had a problem early on with iso2. You could tell right away that 
something was up with 2. The first time the size of the image was way 
out of wack over 850M. I finally got it with wget, never could get curl 
to work at all. It was still slow but it checked out fine.
