If one use the protocol that Chat Forums are based on then the specification
for a Client is minimal.
I have a test system developed with Borland Kylix (My own local version of
packaging).
At this stage it is it text based. It uses Sockets and TCP standards that
communicate between a client and Server as long as you know what the IP
Addresses are for each machine.
Linux and other O/S provide TCP and Socket support as it is a standard.
