Hello,
On a RedHat Linux 9.0 system, the /etc/sysconfig/rhn and contents were deleted.
On execution, up2date generates the following error messages:
>>
warning: can't access /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date
warning: can't access /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid
No rhnuuid config option found in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid.
<<
To get rid of the first warning, I recreated the /etc/sysconfig/rhn directory
and touched up2date file (I figured up2date --register will update this file).
To get rid of the second warning, I touched /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid file
(I figured up2date --register will update this file).
I still get the last error message. So.. I decided to set the "rhnuuid=" to
nothing (thinking registering would populate this field) in the
/etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid file.
up2date --register worked, but the rhnuuid is still not set in the
/etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date-uuid file.
I guess my question is: how do I force recreation of all the up2date
configuration files such as the ones locate in the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/
directory, and get a new rhnuuid ("Universally Unique ID").
Thanks in advanced.
