I have a dual boot setup on my laptop. One
partition has RedHat 9.0, and the other has Windows XP.
The biggest piece of advice I could give is install
Windows first. It will probably write over your linux installation boot
sector if you install Windows after you install RedHat.
I have installed an rpm ( NTFS kernel Module ) that
allows you to read NTFS partitions. It cannot write to them though.
In order to write to an NTFS partition you have to recompile the kernel, or
perhaps try Mandrake.
Here is where you can get the RPM Kernel Module for
Redhat.
(Note that if you update your kernel the NTFS
module will have to be updated as well, i.e. you will have to download the
module that matches your kernel)
You will also need to add a single line to your
/etc/fstab file, so it knows how to mount the NTFS parition. I don't have
my laptop right now otherwise I would send you mine. If you need it just
email me and I will send it.
