Ok, I am a bit clearer now.
I think having a default route inside the tunnel, and only the distant end
ISP gateway routed through the local end ISP will be problematic.
Mostly because the public route will not be point to point, but will
actually go through several hosts/ip addresses that do not appear in your
routing table. Do a traceroute to the distant end ISP, look at addresses.
Your default route will send anything that is not the gateway or the remote
ISP address down the cipe tunnel, and break the circuit.
