Title: Message
Redhat Linux 9
Any
ideas why I am unable to create the sasldb database?
every
time I issue the command: saslpasswd -c u- [domain] -a smtpauth
[dummy] I get a 'generic failure' after entering the password
twice
I am
aware that this is meant to happen the first time that the command is run, but
the database is never created.
the
message log is full of errors as follows:
16
13:14:12 mail saslpasswd: error updating sasldb:
16
13:14:12 mail saslpasswd: CRAM-MD5: failed to set secret for dummy: generic
failure
Jul 16 13:14:13 mail saslpasswd: error fetching from sasldb: Invalid
argument
Jul 16 13:14:17 mail last message repeated 2 times
Jul 16
13:14:17 mail saslpasswd: failed to set plaintext secret for dummy: generic
failure
Jul 16 13:14:17 mail saslpasswd: PLAIN: failed to set secret for
dummy:
any
ideas would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Simon
