Due to rhn upgrades I have 3 kernels + win98 on my rh 8.0. Like my
attic: too much stuff! What would you suggest?

Just remove them manually. Do an "rpm -q kernel" to see what the packages
are, then pick all but the two newest and do a
rpm -e kernel-2.4.20-x.y.z
for each of the old ones. (Don't do 'rpm -e kernel', obviously!)
As a precaution, I would then take a look at the contents of
/boot/grub/grub.conf (or .etc/lilo.conf) and clean up any problems.
