The LANG variable is set to LANG=en_US.UTF-8 This causes some problems with a
few applications (perl?) but one of the more immediate issues I found is man
pages are messy. I changed my LANG to LANG=en_US.iso885915 as it is on a 7.3
system and this fixed the man pages issue. But what is the main issue here? Why
did this change and how would I set it in a more cental location than
/etc/profile, /etc/bashrc, ~/.profile ~/.bashrc ?
Cheers,
-zeek
