My problem is RHN and up2date. Everything worked perfectly before about
December of last year, but I have not been able to update my system
since that time. I have a valid, paid, basic service account, yet it
seems the server keeps closing the connection with me after a time
period of about fifteen minutes or so into a file download. I'm on a
dial up, and such behavior precludes my downloading and updating any of
the larger files, such as XFREE86 or kernel.
RHN support indicated that my problem might be due to my having one paid
subscription, yet two systems registered, with one of them using DEMO
entitlements. I don't think this is the problem as the system generally
denies access to demo accounts when too loaded, rather than booting
people off in the middle of downloads. I saw such messages when my paid
account ran out. Anyway to be certain, I deleted all but one system and
the same thing still happens. The message up2date gives is "The server
has abruptly closed the connection."
I am running release 7.1 (Seawolf)
Kernel 2.4.3 - 12 686
I have the latest version of up2date - it did manage to update
itself!Any help from out there would be appreciated, as I can't use the
service as it now is!
Dave
