I’ve pinged Redhat support
about this twice so far, and the best I’ve gotten out of them was a link
to rpmfind.net. I’m running
RH7.2 on Compaq (HP) Proliant DL360 G2 servers with Broadcom 5700 Gigabit Ethernet NICs. Up until kernel 2.4.18-19, the module
bcm5700.o was included with the Kernel.
After that it disappeared. I’ve
managed to build the driver from HP and install it, but I’ve got to do
this every time I update the kernel.
This is becoming a major nuisance since the Kernel updates have been
coming fast and furious as of late.
I’m trying to find a way to either a) convey to Redhat that this needs to get put back into the distribution,
or b) simplify the deployment process so I don’t have to go through the
whole build process each time I upgrade the Kernel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Erik |
