Don't just delete the files from your boot directory.  I am of course
assuming you have been installing and updating your kernel via up2date or
rpm.

"rpm -qa | gerp kernel" will tell you what is installed.

"rpm -e kernel.2.4.2-2" would be a place to start and then work your way up
until you are left with the current and previous kernel.  I always like to
have the current version and at least the next most current just in case I
run into problems.
