[rhn-users] Re: failed installs

I think I had trouble with RH9 because I installed with ext3 on my
home-constructed system. I see some docs that say if it has trouble
(like freezing), you should try installing with ext2 partitions. I have
also thought maybe my drives were overheating, so keep it cool while
doing this intensive stuff like installing.

After normal bootup, you can update partitions to ext3 with included
tools.

I am trying to install ver9 basic on a non-denominational pc as a server. Abit mb/2.53 intel cpu/80g ibm hhd/1500mg ram. Had it working at one point. Decided to reinstall after 3rd party program failed. Now, sometimes it locks on format(not always the same directory), and sometimes on package install(not always on the same package), but in no case will it complete the install. Am using a boxed, purchased version of 9.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, I am new to Linux.Duane
