Bill, you are far more likely to get a useful response by posting this
query to a mailing list that has some relevance to sound on Linux, or at
least desktops. This list is for discussion of Red Hat Network, which is
mostly used by people managing servers and who don't care about sound. Then
again, if any of my servers started to emit sound, I would start to worry.
