[rhn-users] up2date: There was an SSL error: (104, 'Connection reset by peer')

I am trying to run up2date on a new machine that has previously
been setup by our service provider. I can ssh safely to and from
this machine to anywhere on the net. It is running nntp and so the
time is correct

The only thing that I can imagine is that something copied over as
part of the recovery has set (un)something that should not have been

RHN services are running:

#ps -ef | grep rhn
root 6236 1 0 20:56 ? 00:00:00 rhnsd --interval 240

I've now run out of ideas so any help gratefully received
