Can anyone shed some light as to how Linux behaves with memory? Does Linux pull all of the available memory in the system or is this a tunable parameter? We have a 7.3 server with 4GB of memory and when I run any memory utilization commands it is reporting that 3.9GB is being used.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
