I use RH8.0. Here is how I get the windows partition.
you should get an icon on the desk top.
edit the /etc/fstab file
from terminal
#gedit /etc/fstab
add line that looks like the following assuming your windows partition
is hda1.
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat auto,users,umask=0222,ro 0 0
